Payments and Refund Policy for Alpine Hollow

Payments
We accept payments exclusively through Stripe, a secure payment processing platform. The following payment methods are supported:
- Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and others supported by Stripe)
- Other methods available via Stripe, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or link-based payments (subject to availability in your region)
All transactions are processed securely using industry-standard encryption. You will be charged at the time of purchase. Prices are listed in USD and include applicable taxes where required. We do not store your full payment card details; these are handled directly by Stripe in compliance with PCI DSS standards.
By completing a purchase, you authorize Alpine Hollow to charge your selected payment method for the total amount shown, including any shipping fees or taxes.
Refunds
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Since our products are physical children’s books, we offer refunds under the following conditions:
- Eligibility: Refunds are available for items that are defective, damaged upon arrival, or not as described. We also accept refunds for change of mind.
- Time Frame: Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the delivery date (as confirmed by the shipping carrier).
- Condition of Items: Returned items must be in new, unused condition with original packaging and any included materials. For books, this means no markings, bends, or wear beyond normal handling during inspection.
- Process:
- Contact us at laura@alpinehollow.com with your order number, reason for refund, and photos of the item (if defective or damaged).
- If approved, we will provide return instructions and a prepaid shipping label where possible (for defective/damaged items; otherwise, return shipping may be at customer’s expense).
- Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund.
- Refund Amount: Full refund of the purchase price (excluding original shipping fees, unless the item was defective or damaged). Refunds will be issued to the original payment method via Stripe.
- Timing: Refunds typically appear in your account within 5-10 business days after we process them, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Non-Refundable Items/Situations:
- Digital downloads (if any future products include them).
- Items returned after 30 days.
- Items not in resellable condition.
- Personalized or custom orders (if introduced in the future).
We do not offer exchanges at this time; please place a new order for a different item if needed.
All refund decisions are at the discretion of Alpine Hollow. In cases of disputes, we encourage customers to contact us first before initiating a charge back through their bank, as this helps us resolve issues quickly.

Subscriptions
Subscriptions are recurring payments processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Alpine Hollow to automatically charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, or as specified at signup) for the subscription fee, plus applicable taxes and shipping.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.
- You will receive an email confirmation at signup with full subscription details, including price, billing frequency, and cancellation instructions.
- Prices and terms may change with advance notice via email.
Cancellation
We make it easy to cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation is as simple as signing up.
- How to Cancel: Log into your account on alpinehollow.com and navigate to the “Subscriptions” section, where you can cancel with a single click. Alternatively, reply to any subscription-related email or contact us at laura@alpinehollow.com
- Effective Date: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to receive subscription benefits until the end of that period.
- No Penalties: There are no cancellation fees or penalties.
- Refunds on Cancellation: No prorated refunds for the remaining portion of the billing period after cancellation. Previously charged amounts are non-refundable.
Pausing or Modifying Subscriptions
If available, you may pause or modify your subscription (e.g., change frequency or skip a delivery) through your account dashboard.
This policy is designed to comply with Stripe’s requirements, applicable consumer protection laws, and best practices for transparent subscription management. We encourage contacting us directly for any subscription questions before initiating a dispute with your payment provider.
